Its a horse head done in full neon pop-art style. The face splits almost down the middle: teal blue on one side, hot pink-magenta on the other, with a golden yellow mane that flows and curls around both. Paint drips hang down from the chin and chest like the whole portrait is melting off the canvas. Dark background in the design itself, so the whole piece is meant to live on black or very dark fabric.

Stitch density on this runs genuinely high. Biggest size hits 64,989 stitches and the density sits at 1,321, which is a lot of thread going into a 7.51 inch space. Careful underlay keeps the colour transitions between pink and teal from bleeding into each other. Nine sizes from 3.51 inches up, so you can pop a smaller version on a bag pocket without committing to the full large. Its got range.

And the drip detail is whats fun. I drew the drips with varying lengths so they look organic, not copy-pasted. The shortest ones just poke down from the jawline a few millimetres. The long ones on the chest hang almost to the bottom of the hoop. Last autumn I started selling this to equestrian jacket makers and a couple of custom boot studios actually, which surprised me. Its not a traditional Western horse at all but the horse crowd realy likes the contrast with the usual lasso-and-saddle stuff.

Black denim is your best fabric for this. Also works on charcoal cotton, dark navy twill or black canvas. Skip anything lighter than charcoal because the colour scheme needs a dark ground to sing, theres no salvaging it on pale fabric. Use a firm cutaway stabiliser under denim or canvas, the stitch count demands it. Pre-wash your denim before hooping to avoid shrinkage warping the design after its done.

Keep your machine speed at medium. The densest colour fills are the face panels and the mane streaks. If you rush it you get needle strikes breaking thread on the high-density sections. Take it slow and this comes out realy clean. Worth the patience.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Custom equestrian denim jacket back panelStitch the full 7.5-inch on a black denim jacket back for a horse rider who wants a bold pop-art look instead of traditional Western.
  • Horse show competitor gift bagsEmbroider the medium size on a black canvas goodie bag for a horse show competitor. Far more striking than a plain ribbon design.
  • Western boot studio custom leather patchA boot studio ordered patches from me last autumn in the 4-inch size to sew onto custom leather boot shafts. Works beautifully on black canvas backing.
  • Dark tote bag for equestrian boutiquePop the 5-in print on a dark navy tote bag for an equestrian boutique. The neon pink and teal glow off a dark background.
  • Teen bedroom wall hoop artHoop the larger size in a chunky black frame for a teens bedroom. The pop-art palette sits right alongside street-art posters.
  • Country music merch black teeUse the medium on black cotton tees for a country music event. Horse plus neon drips reads instantly as cool and not at all corny.
  • Horse therapy centre fundraiser apparelHorse therapy charities have been ordering these on hoodie backs for their fundraiser merch. The horse connection is obvious and the art style pulls in younger donors.
  • Saddle pad custom brandingStitch the smallest size on a black canvas saddle pad corner for a custom equestrian supply business.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
