This colorful dripping mushroom sits front and centre on black, the cap a big solid magenta dome that takes up most of the composition. Then the drips start. Cobalt blue shapes hang off the cap edge like paint someone pulled downward and let go, each drip a lil teardrop or elongated blob, some of them nearly reaching the base of the stem. Butter yellow star shapes and small dot clusters float around the outside, completely scattered, no particular order, which is exactly the whimsical energy for this design.

Six colours total, which means 5 colour changes, and the digitising software sequenced them to minimise jump trims. Magenta fills the cap first, then cobalt builds the drip shapes, then yellow drops in the star and dot accents, then there are 3 additional tones for stem shading and highlight passes. At the largest size, 6.64 x 7.5 inches, youre looking at 63,100 stitches, so budget ninety minutes or more depending on your machine speed. The density on this one is 1267, which is chunky, so a dense cutaway stabiliser backing is non-negotiable, ya want firm support under that magenta cap fill or it puckers.

Stitch on black or charcoal fabric only. The magenta at density 1267 needs a proper topping on any fabric with visible texture, otherwise the cap surface looks rough. Hoop the fabric taut, add a layer of water-soluble topping, and run the magenta cap pass first so you can check the satin edge quality before committing to the full sequence. Use a 75/11 needle for the fill sections and drop to a 70/10 for the small yellow dot accents. Dont rush the bobbin check before the cobalt drip pass either.

9 sizes run from 3.10 x 3.51 inches up to 6.64 x 7.50 inches. Stitch counts go from 25,947 at the smallest to 63,100 at full size. Last autumn a customer who does alternative market stalls told me she stitches the 5-inch file across a black zip pouch and they sell out every time. That doesnt suprised me at all because this design just grabs attention fast. Ping me on here if you run into any problems with the download and Ill send a fresh file over.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
