This bird sits right in the middle of a flowering branch, blooms all around it on both sides, some fully open and some still in bud. Its got that vintage botanical print feeling where the bird and the flowers carry equal visual weight, neither one is just background to the other. The feathers use directional fill stitching so they read with proper depth, and the flower petals get satin with a lighter tip so they come out dimensional rather than flat.

12 colours total: teal and cobalt on the bird, coral pink and warm orange on the flowers, multiple greens on the leaves and stems, brown branch, black detail lines. Its a lotta colour changes but they group into 3 clear sections so setup goes faster than you expect. Density sits at 1,113 which is high, so use cutaway on anything that moves at all. Dont use tearaway on stretch or mid-weight jersey, it wont hold flat.

Spring is the obvious season for this one but honestly I sell these year round. People use em for living room cushions and kitchen curtain tiebacks through all four seasons. This past April a customer used the 7 inch version for the back panel of a fabric journal cover she was gifting, said it looked like something from a proper art market. I love hearing that.

4 sizes: 4.5 inches scaling up to 7.5 wide, heights running from 3.47 to 5.78 inches. The larger sizes have genuinely lovely detail on those flower petals, worth going big if the project allows. Slow your machine speed for the fine satin petal tips on the largest size, it keeps the edges crisp. Skip dark base fabrics completely, teal and those lighter flower tones disappear on dark grounds.

Looks best on cream, warm white, sage green and pale blush fabrics. Those 12 thread colours need a neutral base. Pop it on the front of a natural canvas tote and it looks like something youd find at a craft market, not a download you picked up online.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Spring cushion cover for living roomStitch the 6-in build on a cream or blush cotton cushion cover for a spring living room refresh that doesnt need anything else to look finished.
  • Fabric journal or notebook coverthe 7-in build on the back panel of a fabric covered hardback journal makes a gift that looks like something from a boutique stationery shop.
  • Linen tote bag front panelPop it on the front of a natural linen tote for a botanical bag that works through spring and summer without looking too seasonal.
  • Curtain tie-back accentA smaller 4.5 inch version stitched on a fabric curtain tie-back adds a garden detail to a bedroom or kitchen window treatment.
  • Cotton apron front bibCentre the 5-in run on the front bib of a plain cotton apron for a kitchen piece that reads as decorative and not just functional.
  • Framed botanical hoop wall artStretch the largest into a wooden hoop on cream cotton, frame it and hang it as botanical wall art that works in any room.
  • Childrens spring dress yokeUse the small size on the yoke front of a plain cotton girls dress for a spring outfit that looks individually made rather than shop bought.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
