Colorful mermaid mid-movement, long magenta hair flying upward wide. One arm raised, teal crosshatch-scaled tail sweeping down. Splash shapes in blues, pinks, and mauves surround her with round bubble dots near the top and ruffled golden-orange sea coral at the base. Its genuinely busy with 12 thread colors but its all working together rather than fighting.
Density 803, so hoop it on something with body. Woven cotton or canvas works well. Use a tearaway stabiliser for non-stretch fabrics, cutaway for anything with give. 9 size variants between 3.5 and 7.5 inch wide and 2.67 to 5.73 tall. Pop it on a 4-inch setting for a baby onesie and the satin tail detail still reads cleanly at that scale. Stitch it at full size on a tote front or t-shirt chest and youll see it fills the space without needing anything else around it.
I sell this design heavily for beach bags last summer, really good results on navy canvas where the magenta hair stands out hard. One customer ordered a whole batch of kids bags and tested all 9 sizes first. If youre doing something similar and want advice on sizing or backing, drop me a note and Ill help you figure it out.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Girls t-shirt or dress front panelThe tall vertical shape drops right onto a t-shirt chest without any awkward cropping, splash details fill the space naturally.
- Kids swim bag or beach toteSandy-colored canvas or bright blue tote fabric both show off the mermaid's 12-color palette really well on a beach bag.
- Baby onesie at medium sizesDrop it on a 4-inch setting for a baby onesie, the details still hold at that size thanks to the density.
- Backpack front pocket patchThe compact 3.5-inch wide version fits a backpack front pocket or zip pouch with room to spare.
- Bedroom pillow or cushion coverOn a white or light grey pillow, all the blues and pinks spread out and the design gets a lot of visual impact.
- Hooded towel for younger kidsWorks well on hooded towels for toddlers and younger kids, machine-washable fabrics hold the teal tail fill cleanly.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
