This little guy has so much personality its kinda ridiculous. Hes a young owl with feathers sticking out every which way, big round black-rimmed glasses taking up half his face, and these huge bright green eyes that look genuinely suprised. Like he just got caught reading past bedtime.

The feather work is where the design really shines. Painterly, brushed strokes building up the texture instead of flat fills. Bright blue across the head and back, an orange and yellow belly fading into magenta near the legs. Wing tips have a coral red flick to them and theres pops of teal and lighter blue throughout. alot going on but it all works.

The glasses are the best bit. Big black satin circles framing those green eyes with white catchlight highlights, sitting a touch crooked on his face which makes him feel real. Underneath theres a small coral red beak and skinny stick legs holding him up.

Highest stitch count of anything in the catalog this batch, 29k on the small piece reaching 70k on the largest, across 9 sizes. Density at 1663 is heavy so hoop a cutaway stabiliser, no exceptions. Run polyester thread on knits, the brightness holds best wash after wash. Skip light tearaways, the directional fur strokes will pucker the fabric without proper backing.

This last back-to-school season people have been picking it up for kids backpacks, teacher gifts, library tote bags and reading nook decor. One customer ordered the 5 inch size for a stack of toddler hoodies and the glasses still read clear from across the daycare room. Pair it with a name patch or stitch it solo on a cream waffle towel for a bookworm friend.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Kids backpacks and library bagsOn a small canvas backpack the glasses really sell the bookish vibe, kids think hes their study buddy.
  • Teacher tote bags and apple gift setsStitch onto a teacher tote with their initial in the corner, the owl already does the personality work.
  • Reading nook pillow coversOn a 16 inch reading cushion the painterly feathers feel super cozy, like a worn library armchair.
  • Toddler hoodies and zip-up sweatshirtsBest on midweight toddler hoodies with cutaway stabiliser, this one gets dense at bigger sizes.
  • Back to school t-shirts and apronsSized down for a chest tee placement, the glasses stay readable even at 4 inch wide.
  • Bookworm gift towels for grown-up readersOn a cream waffle towel for a reader friend, the magenta and orange play nice with kitchen palettes.
  • Nursery hoop wall art for woodland roomsIn a wooden hoop hung above a kids bookshelf, the woodland palette ties together with cabin decor.
  • School librarian aprons aswell as desk pouchesAcross an apron pocket front, leaves room for a name patch above so the owl is centered.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
