Four little parrots on a branch all squished together like they own the place. The one on the left is a soft blue budgie type, next to it is a warm golden-orange bird, then theres a green cockatiel in the back with its spiky crest sticking straight up, and on the right a rose pink one that looks genuinely suprised to be there. All four have the same exaggerated round eyes and yellow beaks that make the whole group feel like a cartoon you recognise but cant quite place. The wooden branch they're standing on has a nice warm brown texture with some line detailing.

Set up in my main software. The stitch runs from one bird to the next without huge jump sequences so the machine isnt constantly trimming mid-design. 24 colours and up to 65,246 stitches on the large hoop, density at 1,044 stitches per square inch. The body fills on each bird are done in short satin sections that follow the feather direction so they dont sit flat like a solid block. Theres a decent amount going on in a relatively tight space, the four sizes run from 5.5 inches wide up to 8.5 inches wide so even the smallest needs a standard 6x4 hoop or larger.

Stitch this on medium-weight woven fabric with a cutaway stabiliser. Dont use tearaway here, the combined stitch count across four bird bodies will shift the fabric if theres nothing firm underneath. Add a layer of topping if youre working on textured fabrics like canvas twill or a waffle-weave towel so the fine wing detail doesnt disappear. One customer asked about running the 7-inch size on a charcoal tee for a parrot-obsessed teenager. They went with a medium cutaway and said the colours read beautifully against the dark background.

Pick this for a tote bag, a cushion, a kitchen towel or a sweatshirt front. The horizontal format fits across a tote gusset or as a pillow centrepiece. Use 40wt thread for all the bird fills and the fine eye outlines especially. Best results on pale to mid-tone fabrics. Pair it with a solid coloured item so the 24 thread colours dont compete with a busy background print. Four birds on one branch. All hooped in one go. Forty thousand stitches or more.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
