Seven colours and the thing just sings. Orange-gold wings dominate the top half of the palette with diagonal line-fill texture running across them, each scalloped edge traced in a darker khaki-gold that gives the outline that slightly ornate look you see on tropical swallowtail specimens. Its not flat at all, theres actual depth between the base fill and that darker scalloped trim.

Hot pink runs through the center body section and bleeds into the wing roots, where oval spots of the same magenta sit scattered across the gold field. And the lower wings swap into pale pink with a different set of oval spots, this time in purple, which shouldnt work against the orange-gold palette but somehow does. The thorax is a small solid dark red section where the antennae branch off in thin black lines. Six color changes total, so load your bobbins before you start.

But honestly the colours are why people buy it. Ive had repeat orders from customers making spring gift bags, birthday kits and craft market stock, all of them saying they wanted something immediately recognisable as joyful without any text needed. Last march I heard back from a customer who does seasonal markets and she said it was her fastest-selling embroidered piece all spring. Stitch count goes 12,676 at 4 inch up to 26,128 at 7 inch, density is solid. Back it with a stable woven interfacing so the directional fills lie flat, those diagonal texture runs will pucker on anything stretchy if you skip backing.

Use white, pale yellow, soft mint or sky blue for the most colour payoff. Dark backgrounds work too but the pale lower wings get a bit lost, so lighter fabrics are the better call. Go big if your project allows, the 7-inch really gives the wing detail room to breathe. So grab your brightest thread set and stitch this one on something people will actually stop to look at.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
