Heres my colorful puppy and yeah i went ya know what, full pop palette this time. Chubby cartoon pup rolling on its back, paws kicking, tongue out, one ear floppy. Built it for folks who dont want a realistic dog but still want something with proper character.
13 colours stack into the fur in patches not realistic shading. Orange and tan across the head, a lavender purple wash on the back, teal and mint cyan running through the paws and belly, magenta pink dabs on the ear and cheek, white chest fluff, and black eye and nose dots. So the puppy reads like a watercoloured cartoon, the colours just dont match any real breed and thats kinda the joke.
I been getting orders from kids party planners alot, especially birthday goodie bag people. One mum last summer ordered 22 cotton totes for her daughters 6th birthday party, and the photos blew up on her instagram. Customers tell me kids actually fight over which colour shows up on the puppy when they pick a shirt.
9 sizes from 3.5 inch up to 7.5 inch, stitch range 22,492 climbing to 58,719. Density runs medium high so the bigger sizes carry the colour blocking best, smaller hoops blur the magenta and mint into one muddy patch. Stick with medium and up if you want every colour to read.
Run it on white, cream, pale pink, sage and sky blue tee, canvas tote, brushed fleece sweatshirt. Skip dark navy or black, the lavender and mint just disappear. Hoop with a cutaway under any stretch, tearaway under woven canvas, and a wash away topping helps the colour edges land clean on fleece. Pair it with a kids name in chunky block lettering for proper personalised birthday merch.
