I sold a bunch of these last summer, orders picked right back up this April. 6 colours, two-line layout: hello in a looping cursive script on top, SUMMER in big chunky block caps below. Each letter a different colour, pink S, teal U, yellow M, green second M, orange E, purple R. And the cursive pink matches the first block letter so it doesnt feel like two separate designs forced together, it just reads as one thing.

Stitch count goes up to just under 20k on the largest size at 3.47 inches wide and 8 inches tall. At the smaller end around 1.74 inches the block letters hold their shape well, theyre satin filled at medium density so they dont lose edge crispness going small. The cursive on top is thinner, so stay at 2 inches or above if you want both halves to look clean.

Hoop on a medium cutaway and add lightweight topping if your fabric has any texture or nap. Skip stretch fabric unless you use a water soluble topping layer, the thin cursive section wants a stable surface. Pop it on a kids tote, a beach bag, a bucket hat. Rainbow letters do all the work.

Works on dark coloured fabric too. Solid fills are dense enough. Just use bright thread colours and it reads on navy canvas the same as white.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Summer-themed kids tote bags and backpacksStitch the medium chest on the side of a kids canvas tote, all six colours pop well against natural or white canvas.
  • Beach hats, visors and bucket hatsPut it centred on a bucket hat brim panel, the tall layout fits the band nicely and reads well from a distance.
  • Seasonal pillow covers for a porch or sunroomRun the large size on a cotton pillow cover for outdoor seating, bright and seasonal without being fussy.
  • Summer camp name labels on fabric pouchesUse the small 1.74 inch size on a fabric label patch for summer camp gear, holds shape even after repeated washing.
  • Tank tops and tees for warm-weather marketsWorks on lightweight cotton tees, keep stabiliser minimal and use topping over jersey knit so the script stays sharp.
  • Vacation travel pouches and toiletry bagsEmbroider on a flat zip pouch for sunscreen or beach bits, the tall proportions suit portrait-orientation pouches.
  • Fourth of July or end-of-school-year giftsMakes a quick fun gift for a teacher at the end of term or a neighbour before they head off on holiday.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
