Butterfly with both wings filled with bold irregular colour patches, almost like someone splashed watercolour paint across the wing surface and let it spread. Its recognisably a butterfly but the fill areas overlap and blend in a way thats expressive and painterly rather than a tidy symmetrical specimen illustration. Big colour energy. Five thread shades all working together across those wing panels.

At the smallest size this thing starts at 3.5 inches wide and goes 7.5 wide max, heights run from 2.68 to 5.75 inches so its wider than tall at all sizes. Stitch count goes from 11,366 up to 30,342 at the large end. At 30k stitches youre looking at a longer stitch time but the colour coverage is suprised how evenly it comes out.

A customer asked for this one last spring, then again through summer, people making colourful nature pieces, art-lover gifts, bright summer decor. One customer last june was genuinely suprised how vivid the colours looked on a plain white shirt, she said recieved a lot of questions about where she got it made.

For the best colour impact stitch this on white or cream cotton. The splash effect absolutely needs a light neutral background or the colour contrast gets lost. Use cutaway stabiliser given the density at 704, especially at the large sizes where the fill sections get heavy. Skip any fabric with a raised texture, the colour patches need a flat smooth surface.

Pop it on a shirt, a tote, a canvas pouch. Works for spring markets, summer fairs, or any piece where youre wanting colour to do the talking. Bold enough to stand alone.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
