Worked up this colourful spooky season piece because customers been asking for a halloween design that isnt all black and orange. Each letter in Spooky gets its own bright thread, S is pink, P is magenta, the first O turns into a little ghost face with two black dot eyes and an open mouth, K is dark red, Y is purple. Underneath, Season runs in white script that crosses through with that hand-lettered swoop.
Around the main text floats a little party of small motifs, orange and aqua bats up top with their wings spread wide, pink magenta and green stars at the corners, another bat at the bottom, a sweet little ghost peeking through near the middle. Eight threads total covering the rainbow palette without going overboard, white does the heavy lifting at 6,244 stitches for the Season script and ghost body.
I started selling this last halloween for the pastel goth crowd, kids who want halloween merch but in a pink and aqua vibe rather than orange and black. Customers been ordering it for daughters birthday parties that fall in october, halloween themed baby showers, sweet sixteen halloween parties. One customer ordered three sizes for her halloween bake stand at a school fair.
Five ranging 3.5-7.5 wide 7.5 in max, stitches 12,116 to 32,795. Heights are short, 2.49 to 5.33 inches, so its a landscape oriented piece thats wider than tall. The smallest size still holds detail on the ghost face and the star points.
Stick to white, oatmeal, cream or pale grey fabric so the bright threads pop. Skip dark fabric because the magenta and pink read muddy. Use a soft cutaway stabiliser on jersey, Slip a tearaway under woven cotton or canvas. Hoop snug, the multi-colour fills want a flat surface. Message me if anything looks wonky after stitching.
