Stag head facing straight forward, big branching antlers spreading wide, and on the bridge of his nose sits a pair of chunky round black sunglasses. The face uses directional satin hatching rather than a solid fill so the fur texture actually comes through in the stitching. Ears flare out from the sides, the chin tapers into a point, and the whole thing has that retro illustrated-poster quality you see on hunting outfitter merch from the 1970s. Except this deer also clearly does not care that its christmas.

And then theres the lights on the antlers. A string of bulbs in green, orange, red and aqua hangs across the antler rack, some nestled in the fork joints and some dangling off the outer tips. The wire running between them stitches in the same black thread as the outlines so it reads as part of the sketch rather than a separate element stuck on top. 5 colours total, 4 colour changes, and the largest 7.19-by-7.51-inch size comes in at 18,443 stitches which is a solid mid-density count for this kind of outline-style design.

One customer who runs a hunting outfitter in rural tennessee ordered this last christmas for fleece-lined flannel shirts. He stitched the 5.51-inch on charcoal flannel and sold em as christmas gifts to his regulars. Sent me a photo, the directional hatching on the deer face looks outstanding in black thread on grey flannel, you get actual depth instead of a flat shape.

Skip white or cream fabric here because the black outline linework doesnt hold up against pale grounds. Charcoal, olive, forest green, navy or rust are all solid choices and youre after that contrast anyway. Lay cutaway behind if youre hooping a stretchy knit, the antler tips can pull inward on jersey if the stabiliser is too light. Smaller pull works for pocket-left placement on a denim shirt. Run the 7.51 across a hoodie chest for something you can see from across a room.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
