So this is the ghost who refused to leave after october. A blobby rounded ghost shape, cream fill with that characteristic wavy bottom hem, sitting right in the middle wearing full Santa kit. Santa hat's on top, slightly tilted, with a sprig of holly tucked into the white trim band and the pompom flopping to one side. Big heart-shaped sunglasses in solid black, round red nose like a certain reindeer, and a peace sign thrown up with the left hand.

The right hand holds what looks like a tiny decorated tree shaped like a cookie or snack, with little round ornament dots on it. Around the bottom third the ghost's tangled in a string of coloured lights that spill outward left and right with small red, green and yellow bulb shapes along the wire. Scattered across the background are small four-pointed star sparkles in pink, green and white, plus a few snowflake outlines. Its all a bit chaotic in the best way, but thats what makes it work.

Runs 13 colors across 5 sizes, widths from 3.5 to 7-in baseline, heights from 2.81 to 6 inches. Stitch count goes from about 20k up to nearly 47k so this is a dense design, and its worth the sew time. Use a medium to heavy cutaway stabiliser. The scattered background elements add stitches but also add that retro energy, so dont skip them. A customer ordered this last december for a set of novelty tote bags for a spooky christmas work party and said the reactions were brilliant. She reordered in january for valentines tote bags using a different design, which tells you the quality held up.

Works great on black, white or any solid mid-tone fabric. On black the cream ghost body pops dramatically and the coloured lights glow against the dark background. On white you'd get a cleaner bubblegum-pop feel. Avoid patterned fabrics, too much going on around the ghost loses the scattered sparkle elements, and youd lose the whole retro energy of it. Medium weight cotton, canvas, or a smooth fleece panel all stitch cleanly.

Recolour the lights string to all-green or all-red if you want a more streamlined look. The heart sunglasses and peace sign are what make this design, so dont drop those elements when recolouring. If its your first time with a 13-color design, do a full sew-out test first on scrap fabric before you commit to the final piece.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
