Heres a tiny highland cow calf wrapped up for Christmas, looking like shes been dragged out for the family photo against her will. Long shaggy ginger fringe covering most of her face with just two big dark eyes peeking through, two short curved horns coming out the sides of a green and red santa hat with pale blue fluffy trim. A red-and-black buffalo plaid scarf bunched up around the neck and a matching lime green sweater with the same plaid trim on the hem and cuffs.

9 colours run at a density of 1033 stitches per square inch, medium-heavy, smaller than the cat designs in this Christmas batch but still on the dense end. Stitch range covers 18,012 at the 3.51-inch smallest version up to 45,286 at the 7.51-inch largest. Ive digitised this one in my professional tool with long directional fill on the shaggy fur, the stitches actually angle down and out from the centre of the body so when light catches the thread its got that windswept look you get on a real highland coo.

The plaid on the scarf uses two satin layers stacked at a 90-degree angle, dark red base then black bars on top, which gives you that proper tartan-grid effect without trying to digitise it as a fill pattern. One customer told me she made a set of 3 of these for her sisters on cream waffle-knit beanies and apparently her mum cried. Nine colour stops, so set aside time for the swaps and grab matching reds (variegated dark red works great here for the plaid).

Hoop on medium cutaway stabiliser for stretchy knits, tearaway for stable woven cotton. Skip silky or stretchy lightweight tees, the long fur fills need a fabric with body or the stitches drift. Best on cream, sage, dusty pink, or natural linen and waffle knit, anything thatll let the ginger coat read against a soft background. Pair with a matching highland coo or farm animal design to build a small Christmas set.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
