And this cowgirl line art portrait. Been gettin asked alot for it over the past month. Its just her face and shoulders, wide-brim cowboy hat pulled forward over the eyes, long wavy hair tumbling down past the collarbone. Single black thread the whole way through, no fills, no colour changes, just contour line work. Drew the eyes deliberately a bit asymmetric so she doesnt look stiff.

The hair is where alot of the stitch count goes. Long flowing waves with internal hatched line shading that makes the volume read without filling anything in solid. Hat has those classic dimple creases up top and a curved brim, with directional satin lines giving it shape. Theres a faint collar suggestion at the bottom plus a tiny earring detail tucked into the hair on one side. Honestly its kinda minimal but reads big on fabric.

So 9 sizes covering 2.78 inches tall through to 5.96 inches at the biggest. Widths step from 3.5 inches and reach 7.5 across. Stitch counts begin 9,681 at the smallest then climb to 21,317 at the largest. One colour total, density sits around 477 which is light. Hoop a 2.0oz cutaway underneath any knit ground. For canvas or denim a tearaway holds the contours fine. The fine line passes need sharp 75/11 needle so the lines stay crisp.

Stitch onto cream, sand, dusty pink or light olive for that vintage western print feel. Skip dark or busy patterned cloth, the line work disapears against it. Pop the smaller hoop on the chest of a chambray shirt and the bigger sizes do real well as a back panel on a tote or jacket. Anchor with a layer of tearaway underneath if your fabric is thin.

One customer last week ordered it for a bachelorette weekend in nashville, hooped a 5-inch piece on bandanas for her bridesmaids. Sent me photos two days later, the line art read clean even on soft fabric. Hit me up if anythin looks off after you stitch it out and Ill remake the file overnight.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Canvas tote bags for rodeo weekendsCentre the 7-inch hit on a stone canvas tote and youve got a clean western piece that suits a rodeo weekend run
  • Cream bandana favours for bachelorette partiesHooping the 5-in piece on cotton bandanas works as bridesmaid favours, the contours stay legible on soft ground
  • Sweatshirt back panels for country apparel dropsStitch the largest hoop on the back of a sand-coloured sweatshirt for a country apparel drop or merch booth
  • Hat brim and pocket placements on cowboy shirtsSmaller 3-inch hits suit shirt pocket placements or hat-brim spots where you want suggestion not a full statement
  • Quilt block centres for western-themed throwsUse the 6-inch size as a quilt block centre on cream linen squares and frame it with a simple sashing strip

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
