Heres the crocodile and elephant pair, two little baby-style cartoon friends standing side by side. The crocodile is mint green with a chubby round body and a tiny upturned snout. He holds a bright orange balloon on a thin string. Right next to him stands a soft grey elephant with floppy ears, a curled trunk and small pink cheeks.

Fourteen colours through the whole piece but the design stays under 21k stitches on the 7.5-in cap size and 8k on the 3-in micro. Density was kept low at 812 on purpose. The fill is a light tatami so the baby fabric doesnt warp under the hoop. Black satin column outlines on top hold the cartoon edges crisp.

I been digitising this style for nursery items for about two years and its always a hit at baby showers. One customer ordered nine of em on cotton burp cloths last spring for a twin baby gift basket. People who run small etsy stores buy this regularly to put on quilt squares and milestone blankets.

Stitch on soft baby fabrics like cotton muslin, brushed flannel or jersey romper material. Pop it on cream, pale yellow, soft grey or mint shirts so the colours read warm. Skip patterned or printed baby fabric. The design has alot going on with two characters plus a balloon, so a busy background just kills the cuteness.

For the fills use a tear-away stabiliser on woven cottons. Hooped, dont float. The directional satin on the balloon string is fine but use a 70/10 needle on flannel so it dont snag the soft pile. Reach out through the help portal if a colour reads dull mid-stitch.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
