Two kittens curled up in a pile, the grey-blue tabby on the left and a golden-brown tabby on the right, both with their eyes drooping in that half-asleep kitten way that is genuinely hard to look at without feeling something. The grey one has darker stripe markings running through its fur and those small bright pink ear insides. The golden one has warmer amber-tan fur with its own tabby patterning, same pink ears. Theyre tucked into each other in a round shape, tails and paws folded under, the kind of curl that only kittens and very comfortable cats manage.
Ten colours and dense fur fill work that accounts for most of the stitch count. The directional stitching on the fur goes with the actual growth direction of cat fur rather than just filling in a shape, which is what gives it that soft pet-portrait texture rather than a flat cartoon feel. my main digitising tool ran the hair-stroke overlays after the base fills to add the lighter highlight stripes and darker shadow lines. Stitch count starts at 26,632 for the smallest 3.41-inch-wide size and climbs to 72,810 at the full 7.32 inches. Density is 1,328 which is on the heavier end, so this one needs proper stabilising.
Customers send notes about kitten designs weekly, this one especially from cat owners more than almost any other design. One buyer said she ordered it in july for a custom pillow for her mum, said her mum cried when she saw it because the grey kitten looked exactly like their old cat. I cant promise it'll match your cats colouring but the combination of grey tabby and golden tabby covers alot of the most common domestic cat colour pairs.
Use heavy cutaway stabiliser without exception. The 72k stitch count at the top size is genuinely heavy and even firm cotton twill needs support. Avoid jersey or fleece for the big sizes, the fur fills will drag the fabric between sections and youll get distortion in the sleeping-pile shape. White, cream, and light grey base fabrics are the ones this was designed for, the warm amber and blue-grey thread tones need a pale ground to pop.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
