Made this one back last spring when a customer kept asking for a sausage dog valentine that wasnt just an outline. So we went full fill on the body, directional satin on the long ears, and a solid red heart to anchor the love side of it. Two colours total, tan body and red heart. At the 7.5 max size it stitches out at 28,531 stitches with a density of 86, so use a cutaway stabiliser or it will tunnel on lighter fabrics. The stabiliser really is non-negotiable at the larger sizes here.

Seven sizes from 3.5 inches wide to 7.5 max, heights running from 3.22 inches to 6.88 inches. Its gonna sit roughly square which makes it easy to centre. Heres the thing, at the small end the ear detail gets actually tight, so go at least a 4 or 4.5 inch if you want the individual satin columns on the ears to read clearly. Add a topping on any textured fabric so those ear columns dont sink. On the 6 inch version the digitising of the red heart registers genuinely well, nice and bold against the tan fill.

Stitch it on a dark navy fabric or a muted olive canvas for a non-pink valentines look. Pair it on a sweatshirt chest with the 5 inch version. Skip the tearaway on any fabric with stretch, the density at 86 is too high and the design will pull. Send me a quick message if any file format gives ya trouble on your machine and Ill check which version works best for your setup.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • dachshund owner gift sweatshirtPlace the 6-in on a sweatshirt chest, hoop with cutaway and use topping on the fleece surface.
  • pet valentine tote bagThe 5 inch sits well centred on a canvas tote, no topping needed on tight-woven canvas.
  • dog mum apron front panelThe 7.5 inch on an apron bib looks dramatic, use medium-weight cutaway and match bobbin to fabric.
  • pet bandana centrethe petite 3.5 on a pet bandana corner works great, tearaway stabiliser on the cotton twill.
  • kids tee chest printKids tees need the 4 inch with a light cutaway on the knit, add topping if the jersey has texture.
  • cushion cover pet lover giftA 6 inch on a cushion front in coordinating tan linen looks really polished for a pet themed gift.
  • canvas zipper pouchThe 4.5 inch on a canvas zipper pouch front is a quick project, digitising density handles the canvas well.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
