Stitched out this design for the first time last spring and was genuinely suprised by how much energy radiates off the skirt. The man is on the left in a clean suit silhouette, he has his arm raised and the woman is caught mid-spin. Her skirt doesnt read as a normal fabric shape, it fans out to the right in long tapering rays that look almost like feathers or flames catching the movement. The fill on those rays is directional satin running the length of each one, so under light they pick up a sheen that a flat fill would never get.
One colour, all black, 1 stop. Stitch count in the 4 inch hoop is 27,169 and the 8-inch version runs to 58,483 stitches. Density is 910 spi, one of the highest in our catalogue, and the skirt rays are so tightly packed they almost feel like a woven surface when the hoop finishes. Digitising in my main digitising tool with 111 trims on the 4 inch render managing all those individual satin rays cleanly without jumping.
I get messages asking which stabiliser to use for high-density fills like this one. Heavy cutaway, no exceptions. At 910 spi on a fabric thats not properly stabilised youll get pull distortion on the skirt and the rays will fan unevenly. Use a stabiliser layer thats as wide as your hoop. Best results on medium-weight cotton twill or a stiff linen. Avoid stretchy fabrics completely, the long directional satin rays need a firm base or the density causes the fabric to bunch at the seam points.
Pop it on a wedding keepsake pillow or a framed hoop for a first dance anniversary gift. Stitch on a tote bag for a ballroom dance class bag or a gift for a dance instructor. Use the 8-inch size on a large canvas panel for a wall piece in a dance studio or music room. Run the small 4-inch on a jacket back pocket or the chest of a performance top. One color. Done.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
