Two red-crowned cranes caught mid-dance, wings thrown wide, and their whole silhouette mirrors back in the still water below. The bird on the left has its wings angled up and back, the right one is leaning in with a lil bow. Theres a stillness to it even though the birds are clearly in motion. That tension between movement and calm is what makes this one so striking on fabric.

The colour palette uses 10 threads and its rich. The primary wing feathers run a deep sky blue fading into periwinkle at the tips, the secondary flight feathers pick up a warm golden amber, and the neck and chest stay white with grey shading for dimension. Pale peach patches float under the wings like soft cloud breaks on the water surface below. professional embroidery software built the feathers with directional satin columns so ya actually get the texture running in the right grain, not just flat fill. The reflection underneath uses softer, looser stitching so it reads as water and shadow rather than a hard copy of the birds.

I had a customer last autumn who runs a small japanese garden centre in Wales. She wanted something for her staff aprons that felt in keeping with the aesthetic, not a logo, just something beautiful. She ordered the 7.49-inch on cream linen aprons and sent photos in november when the autumn light was low. It looked like the cranes were actually resting on the fabric. That was a nice message to recieve.

Pair this on cream, oatmeal or soft white linen for the cleanest result. Natural fabric tones sit better under the watercolour-style palette than anything too stark white. Skip denim or dark cottons here, the whole mood of the piece is about soft contrast not hard punch. Use cutaway stabiliser under linen because linen loves to shift when hooped at 42k stitches. Seven sizes run from 4.49 up to 7.49 inches wide so theres a fit for tea towels, cushion panels, tote bags, table runners and framed hoop art aswell.

Drop me a line if anything looks off when you stitch it out, these long wing feathers can pull a lil on uneven tension so want to make sure it sits right for you.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
