Honestly this is one of my favourite crossover designs in the whole valentines range. Skeleton in a cowboy hat, mid-dance, holding a heart. Four colours, white bone fill, dark hat, red heart accent, and a fourth tone for the hat band or boot detail. Seven sizes from 3.51 to 7.51 inches wide, heights running 2.56 to 5.49 inches so its landscape oriented. Stitch count from 12,598 to 24,987, density at 94. You need a medium-weight cutaway under this one, particularly at the larger sizes where the bone fill sections are doing alot of coverage work.

One customer texted me last february saying she put the 6-in face on the denim back design for a valentines party and got more compliments than anything else she had. Thats kinda the audience for this, people who want valentines day to be fun and a little weird rather than just pink hearts everywhere. The satin fill on the hat brim has directional runs going horizontally which gives it a woven look, and the bone sections use a light underlay first to keep the white from looking flat on darker fabrics.

Best on dark base colours where the white skeleton really pops. Stitch it on black denim, dark navy canvas, or burgundy fleece. Add topping on any textured fabric so the fine bone detail doesnt sink. Text me through the shop contact if a format file has any issues and Ill swap it out for the right one quick.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • denim jacket back panelThe 7 inch on a jacket back placement is the boldest placement, use cutaway and iron-on backing.
  • western valentines day teeThe 5 inch on a black tee chest looks sharp, use topping on the jersey knit to keep the bone detail clean.
  • gothic valentine tote bagStitch the 5.5 inch on a black market tote, no topping needed on tight canvas weave.
  • cowboy hat gift bag appliqueThe 3.51 inch on a small gift bag front panel, tearaway works on non-stretch cotton fabric.
  • dark canvas pouchDark canvas zippered pouch with the 4 inch version, cutaway stabiliser and match dark bobbin.
  • couples matching hoodiesHis-and-hers hoodies with matching 5 inch placement on the chest, fleece needs topping.
  • western party banner fabricFabric banner panels with the 6 inch repeated at intervals, works on cotton muslin or canvas.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
