This is the desert cactus design and its got that dry southwest energy I realy like. The main plant is a cluster of prickly pear pads stacked and fanned out, with proper little spines poking off every edge. Smaller rounded pads branch off the sides. At the base theres a clump of narrow agave blades coming up from the sand and two flat grey rocks sitting either side, which grounds the whole thing so it doesnt look like a clip art cutout.

Six colours total. Two greens do most of the work, a lighter sage on those flat body sections and a deeper forest green on the outlines and spine detail. Creamy white comes in for the highlights on the pad surfaces, sand for the ground patch, grey for the stones and a dark olive green on the agave blades. my main digitising tool digitised the cactus body with tatami stitch so ya get that woven texture you see in the PDF preview, not a flat satin block. Its a real difference when you hoop it up.

I get alot of orders for this one from people doing southwest themed home goods. One customer last spring grabbed the 6.73-inch for a set of cream linen placemats and they looked genuinely gorgeous. She sent me a photo and honestly it fit the fabric better than I expected, the sage green against natural linen is just right.

Pop the smaller 3.14-inch on a canvas tote pocket or a denim shirt chest. Use the big 6.73-inch on a canvas cushion cover or a tea towel. Stick to natural fabric tones like oatmeal, cream, tan or sage so the cactus colours dont fight the background. Skip black or navy, it loses the ground detail in the darker rock shading.

The dense sections run up to about 46k stitches on the fullest size so Back it with heavyweight cutaway on anything stretchy. Woven cotton and linen take a tearaway just fine. Hoop snug because the spine detail stitching is small and tight. And holler at me if the file gives you any trouble loading, Ill sort a fresh export same day. Holler at me if the punch gives any trouble and Ill rework it fast.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
