Honey bee from directly above with wings spread flat to the sides, sitting dead centre over a cluster of six interlocking hexagonal honeycomb cells. And the comb cluster forms a kind of flower shape with the hexagons radiating out like petals. Wings have light open fill so they read translucent, body has tight directional satin so the stripes look like actual bee fur, not a flat patch.

Three threads only, warm honey orange for the hexagon cell outlines and a touch of body colour, soft cream white for the wing fills, and plain black for everything else, bee body, stripes, legs, antennae. Cells stay empty in the middle so the comb reads as outlined petals, not solid blocks. Keeps the stitch budget reasonable for the size.

Stitch count runs 10,566 at the smallest 3.5x3.4 inches up to 24,942 at the largest 7.5x7.28 inches. So density is moderate at 457 per square inch, its manageable on home machines but worth slowing down a touch on the dense bee section. Theres five sizes covering chest pocket through to tote face placement.

I get steady orders from beekeepers, herbalists and farmers market vendors. One customer ordered ten of these last summer for her countryside soap shop tote bags, she stitched them in matching orange thread on cream canvas. Beautiful set, she sent pics afterwards and theyre stunning.

Best fabric is woven cotton, linen, light canvas, anything cream, natural sand, oatmeal, soft sage. Avoid orange or yellow fabric since the comb will dissapear. Back with cutaway stabiliser for the dense central section, tearaway is fine on the hexagon edges. Use orange 40wt rayon for the comb sheen, polyester black for durability through wash cycles, it wont fray as quickly.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
