So the design is a heart filled with the American flag and its got that distressed grunge thing going on. The blue canton with white stars sits up in the top corner. Red and white stripes run across the rest of the heart shape and the whole motif is wrapped in a messy black scribble outline that looks hand-sketched. And the colour palette pulls in dark blue, royal blue, dark red, true red, white, light grey and black, so 7 threads in total.

I drew it for my mum last year before memorial day weekend. She wanted something patriotic but a lil more rugged than a clean flag. The scratchy outline is what gives the heart that worn-in look, like an old denim jacket patch. Im happy with how the outline came out honestly. Stitch count runs from about 13k on the smallest hoop to 38k on the largest, so theres alot of fill happening on the bigger hoops.

People have been buying it for 4th of july tees, fire department merch, veteran appreciation hoodies and small-batch flag-day totes. One customer told me she stitched the heart onto a chambray work shirt for her dad and the contrast looked killer. Cant beat that combo.

Stitch on cream, oatmeal or a faded denim base for best results. White works aswell but the distressed effect pops harder against off-whites. Skip patterned fabric, the scribble outline already brings the texture. You wont need extra busyness underneath.

Use a heavy cutaway because the canton fill packs tight. Run your machine abit slower through the black scribble layer because the jumps get tight in there. Holler at me on chat if a stitch goes off and Ill redo the digitising for ya at no charge.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
