The dolphin is mid-leap here, back arched up above the wave line with that classic curved shape you recognise straight away. Underneath it the ocean is kinda rolling in waves, not super realistic, more stylised with clear teal and navy sections and white foam edges. The dolphin itself is smooth and glossy looking, done with proper fill stitching and a lighter underlay so it doesnt come out flat.
9 colours in this one: ocean blue, teal, navy, turquoise, white, light grey, warm grey, coral and a dark slate for the outline work. The wave sections are very good at separating colours without looking muddled, each layer reads cleanly. The density sits at 634 which is moderate so it wont weigh down lighter fabrics too much.
Last summer I sold a bunch of these for beach themed nurseries and coastal holiday rentals. One customer told me she stitched it on a set of white cotton guest towels for her beach house in Cornwall and guests kept asking where they came from. Thats the kind of thing I love to hear honestly.
5 sizes from 3.51 up to 7.51 inches. The largest is a proper statement piece at 34,069 stitches, ideal for a centred towel or cushion. Smaller sizes work on kids swimwear cover-ups and summer tshirts. Stick to firm cutaway towelling and jersey, tearaway on woven cotton and canvas.
White, sandy cream, pale aqua and light grey fabrics all work well. Avoid mid-blue as a base because the teal in the waves disappears. Reach out if the file gives you any trouble and Ill resend or fix it same day.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Beach house guest towel setStitch the 5-in size for the corner of white cotton hand towels for a beach house bathroom that feels personal and polished.
- Kids summer swim cover-upA smaller 3.51 inch dolphin on the chest of a kids swim cover-up is the kind of detail that makes summer holiday outfits memorable.
- Coastal nursery cushion coverThe 5 inch size placed on a cream or pale aqua cushion cover fits a coastal nursery without being too childish as the kid grows.
- Cotton beach totePop it on the front of a canvas beach tote in white or sand for a practical bag that reads as genuinely handmade coastal style.
- Holiday camp t-shirt projectGreat for summer camp or swimming club projects where each participant gets their own personalised tshirt with the design on the chest.
- Framed ocean wall art hoopStretch the large 7.51 inch version in a hoop on plain white cotton and frame it as ocean wall art for a bathroom or kids room.
- Childrens bedroom curtain tie-back accentStitch a small version as a decorative element on fabric curtain tie-backs in a seaside bedroom for a cohesive coastal look.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
