Started making kids designs this january after a bunch of requests from customers buying the nursery range, and this rainbow cloud is one of the first ones I was really happy with. Four colours: three rainbow bands plus white for the cloud, density at 376 so it stays soft on items that end up near baby skin. Sizes run from 3.42 inches wide at 9,244 stitches to 7.33 inches wide at 20,669 stitches, five sizes total. The cloud outlines are stitched with a thicker satin border so the shape reads clearly even on textured fabric like fleece or waffle cotton.
Really the most useful size for nursery items is the 4 to 5 inch range. Thats the sweet spot that fits a onesie chest, a small muslin square, or the front panel of a toddler bag without overwhelming the item. On knit fabric like jersey or interlock, hoop with a cutaway stabiliser and dont skip the underlay, knit fabric can shift during a dense colour stitch-in, and the underlay keeps everything registered. Add water-soluble topping on terry cloth bibs so the rainbow colours dont sink into the loops. Run a test stitch on a fabric scrap before committing to the final item, especially on stretch fabrics where the density is highest at the rainbow bands.
One customer made a matching set for twin nurseries last year, she did onesies, muslin blankets, and small wall banners all in the same 5 inch version and the photos she shared were gorgeous. Stitch it on white cotton for maximum colour vibrancy, or try soft sage green fabric with the pastel rainbow for a more muted nursery palette. Use the 7-inch design on a cushion cover as a nursery room centrepiece, it fills the panel nicely without needing additional design elements. Pick the smallest size for baby bibs where fabric space is tight.
What people are using this design for

- Muslin swaddle square accentStitch the 3.5-in print on muslin square corner in soft rainbow thread for a swaddle accent.
- Nursery room cushion coverThe 7 inch size placed on a cotton cushion cover makes a sweet nursery room feature.
- Toddler bag front panelthe 4-in motif on a toddler canvas bag front panel is well-proportioned and wont overwhelm the item.
- Baby shower gift set itemsRun the 3.5-in centred on set of items, onesie, bib, and small bag, for a matching baby shower gift.
- Kids bedroom wall bannerUse the 5-in print on cotton banner strip with a rod pocket hem for a hanging nursery wall piece.
- Fleece blanket corner emblemthe chest 4 in on a fleece blanket corner with water-soluble topping over the loops stitches cleanly.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
