The duck is mid-splash, wings raised slightly and the water around its feet rendered as curved arc shapes with little droplet tips flying off the edges. The body is that classic bright yellow cartoon duck colour, chunky and round, with a wide orange beak pointing forward, big black eyes with white highlight dots, and small pink blush circles on the cheeks. Nine colours: yellow, orange, white feather highlights, two blues for the water sections, black outlines, pink blush and a couple of accent tones in the wing detail.
Water splash elements are stitched in satin with directional angle changes to make the arcs look like they have motion. The main body uses smooth tatami fill, which works better than satin on a larger rounded shape. Seven sizes in the download, from about 4 inches wide up to nearly 7 inches, all of em taller than wide given the upright posture plus the splash base. Stitch counts go from 28k at the small end to just over 50k at full size.
This one really comes into its own on bath towels and hooded towels, which is honestly why I made it. Baby bath and swim gear is the natural home for a splashing duck. Terry cloth needs a water-soluble topping so the stitches dont sink into the loops, and cutaway stabiliser underneath. Stitch it at 5 inches on a white hooded bath towel and it looks like it belongs there.
Last Christmas I had a bunch of orders for this on kids party shirts and baby towel gift sets, which was a nice surprise. Cotton onesies also work great. Use white, pale blue or yellow backgrounds so the yellow feathers dont disappear into the fabric. Customers love pairing this with a name embroidery on a matching gift set.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Baby hooded bath towelsA 5 inch hoop run on a white hooded bath towel is exactly the kind of piece that makes a newborn gift memorable.
- Kids swim bag front panelsOn the front of a navy kids swim bag the duck splash makes the bag instantly recognisable in a pool bag pile.
- Cotton onesie chest pieceA smaller 4-in across a cotton onesie chest sits cleanly without pulling the fabric, especially with a good cutaway underneath.
- Birthday party teesOn a light blue or white short sleeve tee for a first birthday bash the design reads fun and age-appropriate.
- Nursery fabric hoop artMounted in a hoop on white cotton it makes calm nursery wall art that pairs well with blue or yellow decor.
- Terry cloth face washersStitched on a small cotton face washer with topping on the terry, a 4 inch size clears the loops perfectly.
- Personalised baby gift setsPair it with an embroidered name on a bib or towel set and its a solid complete baby shower gift package.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
