Big largemouth bass mid-jump, red thread on white cotton, and its got that red-ink woodcut print look. The fish is coming up hard, mouth wide open, dorsal fin spread out, tail pushing down behind it. You can see the scale texture stitched in across the body and the gill plate detail is sharp even at 4 inches. The whole thing sits inside a circular border made from a curved fishing rod and line, with the rod tip and reel at the edges. Classic bass tournament trophy but done in line-art red instead of the usual patches you see.

I digitised this one with a proper directional stitch pass on the scales so each row follows the natural curvature of the fish body. The fill isnt just a flat satin block. Customers tell me it looks like something off a vintage fishing lodge sign, which is exactly the vibe I was going for when I drew it up last spring.

Six sizes from 4 inch up to 9 inch, stitch counts running from about 17,500 at the small end up to nearly 40,000 on the 9-inch. Thats a dense design so use a proper cutaway stabiliser on any woven fabric, it needs that solid backing or the scale fill sections will lift at the edges. Hoop the fabric drum-tight. The 91 trim sequence at 4 inches climbs to 114 by 6 inches, so dont rush the cleanup.

Red on white or cream gives you that vintage sportfishing look. Red on navy or black goes full tournament-patch energy. Skip anything with a busy pattern or mid-tone colour underneath, the single colour fill needs contrast to show the scale detail. Works on canvas totes, fishing caps, camp shirts and jacket backs.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Bass fishing tournament shirts and jerseysRun the 6-in piece on a navy fishing shirt back for tournament day, looks like a proper team uniform piece
  • Fishing cabin or lodge decor hoopsFrame at 7-in build size and hang in a fishing cabin, red on cream linen reads like vintage lodge art
  • Angler birthday gifts on caps or teesWorks great on a flat-front fishing cap at 4-5 inches, single colour keeps production time down for birthday batch orders
  • Custom fishing charter crew apparelEmbroider on a fishing charter crew shirt chest or sleeve and the circle frame gives it a badge or crest quality
  • Canvas tote bags for tackle shop merchPut the 4-inch on a heavy canvas tote for tackle shop merch, red line-art pops off natural canvas nicely

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
