Small songbird perched on a crescent-shaped arrangement of floral branches, 5 sizes from 3.03 inches wide up to 6.49 inches wide. Large open blooms with layered petals cluster on the left side and bare twisting twigs arc up to the right. The wings and chest have proper scaled feather detail, pointed beak, a little round eye. Everything is single colour black, all satin outlines and line detail, no solid fill patches.
Stitch count from 11,653 to 23,783, density is 488 which is a lighter medium weight. Single colour so theres no thread changes at all. my main digitising tool carried the digitising and the feather scales are done with directional satin so they catch light differently than the flower petals. Youll actually see 2 different textures even in just 1 colour, which I really like about it.
Set tearaway stabiliser under linen or woven cotton, it peels away cleanly after. Cutaway on anything stretchy, dont skip this on jersey. Add topping on terry cloth or velvet or the fine satin lines will sink. Skip dark navy or black fabric, its the sort of design that needs a light background: cream, white or sage green work well.
I get a lot of orders for this around mothers day and spring launches. People love it on linen aprons and tote bags. One customer last spring ordered 3 sizes to stitch onto a set of napkins as a birthday gift for their mum, which was a gorgeous idea honestly. And its not just spring, Ive been selling this year round for botanical home decor.
