Its one of those ornate winter snowflakes that looks almost architectural when you hold it up close. Pop it up against a dark background and six arms spread out from the centre with these curling fronds, the kind you see on wrought-iron gates or old plasterwork ceilings. Every tip finishes in a little leaf-shaped spur. So theres a lot going on for a single-colour design, 5,507 stitches at the 2-inch size up to 13,506 at 5 inches.

The satin columns are digitised at alternating directional angles across each section, which is what gives it that sheen variation. Skip a multi-colour design entirely and still get visual depth, thats the advantage of proper professional tools density work. I get messages asking if this is really one colour because people cant believe the dimension.

The cornflower blue in the PDF is the reference, but run it in whatever thread colour fits your project. White on navy reads like lace. Silver-grey on charcoal fleece is subtle and really nice. This past November a customer ran it in pale gold on an ecru linen cushion for a winter market stall and she said it was the best seller she had that whole weekend. Use a light tearaway stabiliser on wovens, the stitch density handles the rest. Stitch on shirt pockets at 2 inches, or go up to 5 inches for a pillow centrepiece. Four sizes in the download.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Winter-themed throw pillow covers and cushion insertsStitch at 4 or 5 inches centred on the pillow front for a clean, stand-alone winter motif.
  • Christmas stocking cuffs and holiday table runnersA 2-inch version fits neatly along a stocking cuff when repeated four or five times in a row.
  • Kids' fleece blankets and cold-weather nursery decorWorks great on fleece, the satin columns sit right on top of the pile without sinking.
  • Jacket sleeves and coat lapel patchesThe 3-inch size is popular for sleeve patches on bomber jackets and wool coats.
  • Winter wedding favour bags and gift pouchesStitch onto organza bags or velvet drawstring pouches for a delicate winter wedding touch.
  • Snow-theme quilt blocks and patchwork bordersRepeat the 2-inch at even intervals across quilt sashing for a continuous snow border effect.
  • Staff uniform accessories for ski lodges and winter resortsHotels and lodges use the larger sizes on staff aprons, scarves, and branded blankets.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
