A pencil with a big bow wrapped around its middle, the ribbon tails fanning out on both sides. Its the bow thats the main visual element here, big and full with satin fills that give it a 3D kinda depth. 4 colours: blush pink for the bow, warm yellow for the pencil body, grey for the eraser tip, and a dark outline to pull everything together. Youll recognise the classic yellow school pencil look straight away, and with the bow it reads as both cute and polished.

Five hoops spanning between 3.51 and 7.51 wide, heights 3.22 to 6.89 inches. Stitch counts 11,242 to 30,154. Density at 583 means the bow fills have real body and the satin has a nice sheen when stitched in a silky thread. Use a cutaway stabiliser for best results. On a firm woven blank like canvas, run it with a tearaway instead. Dont stitch the largest size on thin jersey without proper underlay or the satin centre can pull. Press wash-away film if youre stitching on any textured surface to keep the bow detail sharp.

A customer told me last autumn they gave a 5-inch sample on a teacher tote as a school year gift and the teacher cried. Im not even suprised honestly, this one realy connects with anyone making teacher appreciation gifts.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Teacher appreciation tote bags and giftsThe 5 inch build centred on a canvas tote in blush pink thread is a go-to teacher gift for any grade.
  • School pencil cases and zip pouchesOn a pencil case in warm yellow thread the bow motif reads playfully and still looks neat.
  • Back-to-school outfit tee shirts for kidsthe 4-in size for a kids back-to-school tee in blush with dark outline is clean and age-appropriate.
  • First-day-of-school photo props and bannersStitch it on a small fabric banner held in a first-day-of-school photo to mark the occasion.
  • Personalised teacher cardigans and sweatersPersonalised with a teacher name stitched below in a running font for a cardigan front placement.
  • Fabric gift bags for end-of-year giftsThe 3.5-in run on a fabric gift bag tied with a real ribbon echoes the bow motif nicely.
  • Bulletin board fabric bunting for classroomsCut small bow-and-pencil panels from quilting cotton and string as bunting across a classroom shelf.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
