This is a cat profile and it keeps things really stripped back. Just the side of the face, snout pointing upward at a slight angle, long whiskers fanning out to the right, and 1 vivid green eye catching the light. The fur is rendered in light grey with a lil bit of darker shading around the ear and jaw. An orange nose dot sits at the tip of the snout. Thats it, four colours total and the whole design reads quietly elegant.

The style reminds me of those lino-print cat illustrations you see in vintage boutiques and independent bookshops. Its not trying to be cute or cartoony, its just a well-drawn cat face in profile. The satin-column whiskers are the bit that took work digitising, embroidery software handled em cleanly with nine separate stop-and-start thread paths. 5 sizes from 3.49 inch up to 7.49 inch, stitch counts run low at 6,882 on the smallest and 14,654 on the biggest, so it stitches out fast.

A customer who runs a small vintage-style homewares stall ordered the 6-inch version last autumn and used it on black linen napkins. She sent me a photo and honestly it looked like something from a proper design studio. The green eye just pops on dark fabric in a way I didnt expect. Plain white or cream cotton also works well but the contrast isnt as dramatic.

Use a medium tearaway stabiliser on woven fabrics, you dont need cutaway here, the stitch density is low. Pick a smooth tightly-woven cotton or linen and avoid fluffy fleece because the whisker lines lose definition on textured surfaces. Stitch it slow on the first run to check your tension, the orange nose section is only 42-67 stitches and if bobbin tension is off it can look thin.

Drop me a line if anything looks wrong after stitching out, Ive got nine sizes worth of test runs on this one so I know all the trouble spots.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
