Its a portrait design and its one of the more detailed ones I've put together. The woman is facing slightly to the side, three-quarter view, and her hijab drapes naturally with those fabric folds you'd actually see in real life. The face has soft features, nothing over the top, but the expression comes through realy well considering its all thread.
And the colour work here is what makes it. Eleven colours total going from warm skin tones through ivory and soft gold for the hijab fabric, then darker shades layered underneath for shadow and depth. The hijab folds are done with directional stitching so the thread angles actually follow the fold lines. Not just a flat fill, proper satin columns following the drape.
I digitised this one last spring when a customer asked me for a modest fashion portrait piece for personalised gifts. She wanted something that looked like proper portrait art not a clip art stamp, so I put alot of time into the skin tone layering and the hijab shading.
Five sizes, smallest is 2.27 inches wide which is good for a small pouch or clutch front panel. Largest goes up to 4.87 inches wide and 7.51 inches tall, which is a full front panel size for a tote or the back yoke of a jacket. Stitch count ranges from 16,688 at the smallest up to 44,807 at the full size. Use cutaway stabiliser, this design has real density at 1,225 and you dont want it shifting mid-stitch.
Looks great on cream linen, ivory cotton, and sand coloured canvas where those skin tones can breathe. Skip dark navy or black, the lighter skin colour threads wont pop the way they should. Hit me up if you need the file in a different size or want to know which hooping setup I'd recommend.
