This one is kinda the elegant cousin of all the bubbly heart designs. The word 'love' is written in a proper calligraphy-style script, those long sweeping ascenders and descenders that give letterforms their character. The heart isnt a separate element, its implied by the way the letters are arranged and the spacing around them.

Just 1 colour to stitch, which sounds simple but the digitising had to work hard to keep the thin stroke variation in the letterforms. The satin column widths change across each letter so you get that genuine calligraphy thick-and-thin feel rather than a uniform line. 5 sizes from 3.5 to 7.5 inches, stitch count from roughly 8,000 up to 18,000 stitches.

I get messages from people who use this on wedding stuff year round, not just valentines. One customer ordered it last February for linen napkins at her daughter's engagement dinner, she said guests kept asking where she bought the napkins rather than realising they were handmade. Thats the kind of response you want from this style.

Stitch it on cotton, linen, or a fine canvas for best results. The thin strokes on the smaller sizes need a stable fabric to read cleanly. Use a tearaway stabiliser on woven fabrics, cutaway if you're going on a jersey knit. Pick a thread colour that has some contrast with the base.

Avoid fluffy or textured materials like velvet or terry because the fine satin columns can get lost in the pile. Drop me a line if you want advice on thread colour pairings for a specific project and I'll help you sort it out.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Wedding favour linen napkinsA 5 inch version on white linen napkins looks like proper wedding stationery turned into a keepsake.
  • Anniversary gift tea towelsStitched in dusty rose thread on a grey cotton tea towel it becomes a sweet anniversary kitchen gift.
  • Bridal party tote bagsThe 7 inch size centred centred on a tote face makes a lovely bridal party bag without being too flashy.
  • Valentines day cushion coversA medium size on a cream or blush cotton cushion cover gives a bedroom a romantic feel around valentines.
  • Engagement party table runnersSeveral copies of the smaller 3.5 inch size spaced along a linen table runner add a cohesive engagement party look.
  • Personalised wedding card holdersStitch it on the front of a small fabric card holder or gift bag for a personalised valentine presentation.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
