Elegant mama script, single color, flowing cursive letterforms on cotton or linen. She sent me a photo last week of this on a blush pink sweatshirt and honestly it looked like something from a boutique rack. Its not fussy, theres no border or decoration around it, just the word in a really clean flowing hand. The letterforms connect the whole way through, so the needle barely lifts between letters, which is partly why the stitch count sits so low at 1,650 for the smallest size.

Pop a lightweight tearaway under it for most fabric types since the density is low and it wont drag the fabric around. On knit sweatshirts or jerseys, use a cutaway instead and lay a water-soluble topping over the face so the letters sit on top of the fibres rather than sinking in. That keeps the thin satin strokes sharp. Stitch the 3.5 inch version across a shirt pocket or a mug coaster. Run the 7.5 inch size along a sweatshirt chest or sleeve where that wide horizontal format looks like it was drawn directly onto the garment.

You can stitch this in any color thread and it works differently each time. Black on white linen feels editorial. White on a black tee is bolder. Dusty rose on cream is almost bridal. One color change means you're done in maybe ten minutes at the small size, which is great when you're making several mama gifts in one sitting.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Sweatshirts and hoodies across the chest or sleevethe 4.5 detail sits neatly across the front chest of a women's size small sweatshirt.
  • Cotton tote bags for Mother's Day giftsStitch in white thread on a 16-oz cotton tote for a clean minimal gift.
  • Shirt pockets on women's linen blouses or denim shirtsFits a standard breast pocket at the 3.5 inch wide size with room to spare.
  • Personalised mama mugs with an embroidered fabric coasterUse a single color that matches the mug glaze; stitch on felt or linen for the coaster.
  • Baby blankets or muslin wraps as a keepsakeEmbroider off-center on a corner of a muslin wrap for a subtle personal touch.
  • Cushion covers for a mothers bedroom or nursery chairThe wide slim letterforms run nicely along the horizontal center of a throw pillow.
  • Trucker hats or beanies using the smaller 3.5 inch sizeHat hooping required; use the 3-in micro size and a firm cutaway backing.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
