I sold a bunch of these last christmas and honestly I can see why. Its the swirling heavy script that does it, the way the M and the C are drawn up big with those long curling entry strokes that sweep down under the baseline. The whole thing reads Merry Christmas without needing a single extra element. And yet theres still little snowflakes scattered through the open spaces between the letters, hand-placed looking not uniform, plus some tiny vine curls at the letter tips that give it that slightly botanical christmas feel.

Single colour, all red, no thread swap needed. Hoop with a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser and youre done. Stitch count goes 7,129 at the smallest 1.99 x 3.51 inch up to 14,943 at the full 4.26 x 7.51 inch. Five sizes total, so theres always one that drops straight into your hoop without sizing down. The satin fill is dense, 467 stitch density, so it holds its colour even on a few washes.

Best on white, cream or soft grey cotton and jersey fabrics. Skip anything with a heavy texture because the fine snowflake details in the negative space will fill in. I've had people run this on red fabric with matching thread which looked a bit off, stick to a light background and let the red script do its thing. Keep the hoop stable through the whole run and it comes out sharp.

And because its single colour you dont need to sit at the machine the entire time. Start it, walk away, come back to a finished piece. That alone makes this one of those designs I come back to every christmas season.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Christmas shirts and sweatshirtsRed script on white or cream cotton reads sharply across the room, great for matching family holiday shirts
  • Holiday throw pillow coversStitch the largest 7.51-inch chest piece centred on natural linen pillow for a clean seasonal look
  • Christmas stockings and tree skirtsThe tall sizing fits stocking panels well, the single red thread keeps it looking cohesive and bold
  • Tote bags and gift bagsCanvas tote in medium size makes a reusable gift bag that looks genuinely hand-crafted and personal
  • Table runners and napkinsWorks nicely along a table runner edge in a repeat pattern, just leave some breathing room between runs
  • Personalised Christmas cards on linenHoop a small linen card panel for a handmade christmas card that actually gets kept, not binned

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
