Red poppy, 3 colours, 6 sizes. Thats actually all you need to know on the technical side, I think the poppy speaks for itself as a subject. The petals are directional satin fill that curves with the petal shape -- each petal segment has a slightly different stitch angle so when you hold the finished piece at different angles the whole flower seems to catch the light differently. Density is 126 which puts it in the medium range, solid fill without being heavy, the petals dont stiffen the fabric at all.
Stitch count runs from 14,481 at 2.82 inches wide up to 36,974 at 6.05 inches. Three colour changes -- red petals first, then the dark centre with satin stamen lines, then the green stem and leaf fill. Really straightforward colour change sequence. Last november a customer who was new to machine embroidery said it was one of the least stressful colour-change designs she had done, said she couldnt believe how clean the underlay came out on linen -- send me note if you want the exact thread colour numbers.
Six sizes, 2.82x3.5 inches up to 6.05x7.5 inches. Taller than wide which makes it naturally good for shirt chest placements, table runner accents, and single-flower cushion designs. Skip the topping on smooth wovens -- the satin fills are dense enough to sit on top of the fabric surface cleanly. Use a cutaway stabiliser on lighter fabrics or anything with stretch to keep the stem from pulling.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Shirt front chest placement3.5-in feature on a shirt chest, tearaway on woven cotton works cleanly at this density.
- Table runner single flower accent5-inch centred on a cream linen table runner, the red reads beautifully on neutral linen.
- Memorial poppy gift item4-inch on a cotton pouch as a remembrance day gift, very meaningful placement.
- Botanical cushion cover6-inch centred on a cushion front, fill the whole face of a 40cm cushion with one bloom.
- Linen tea towel corner embroidery3-inch corner on a white linen tea towel, the green stem trails naturally into the corner.
- Denim jacket back panel flower5-inch on a denim jacket upper back, topping on denim keeps the satin petals surface-level.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
