The elegant snowflake star is an eight-pointed filigree shape, no solid satin fill inside -- its an open lattice of thin parallel lines crossed by scrollwork curls at every junction, like someone fitted a lace doily into a star outline. Outer points are long and sharp, tapering to fine tips, with a second ring of shorter points sitting between them. Single aqua teal all the way through, one thread, no colour break. Comes in 5 sizes from 3.48 inches wide up to 7.44 inches.

Customers asked about this one for christmas tree toppers and I totally get it -- the shape reads as a classic star but the scroll interior makes it feel genuinely handmade. At 7.44 inches the filigree detail is visible from across a room, which is what you need when its hanging above everything else on the tree. Stitch the 5-inch size on natural linen and frame it for a mantle piece that holds up through the whole winter season, not just December.

Tape a layer of stabiliser behind the hoop on lighter wovens like organza or voile -- the open grid sections can pucker if the backing cant hold tension. Use a water-soluble topping on textured weaves so the fine lattice lines sit on top of the fabric. Stitch count reaches 27,594 at max size so density is real even if the design looks open and airy. Email me if you hit any file issues and ill fix it same day.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Framed hoop art as a winter or Christmas wall decorationStitch on natural linen in a 10-inch hoop and frame for a minimalist holiday wall piece.
  • Tree topper embroidery on felt or stiff interfacingCut stiff craft felt to a star silhouette, embroider the design on top and wire it to a tree topper base.
  • Holiday table runners with the star repeated along the lengthRepeat a 3-in chest size every 8 inches along a table runner; single color keeps the repeat from looking busy.
  • Christmas stocking cuff with a single large star centeredCenter the 5-inch motif on stocking cuff, leaving 1 inch margin top and bottom of the cuff band.
  • Winter throw pillow with the design centered on a solid color fabricUse a dusty navy or deep green fabric for the pillow, teal on dark reads like metallic threadwork.
  • Jacket back panel for a subtle winter motifThe jacket back placement works best at the 6-7 inch size; use a denim needle and cutaway backing.
  • Gift wrap fabric squares with the star as the main print elementEmbroider on cotton muslin squares and use as fabric gift wrap tied with a ribbon, reusable and personal.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
