Tall upright tulip, petals opened wide and cupping at the tips. The base colour on the petals is a soft blush pink, R247 G162 B154, then white is layered over that as a highlight thread to build up the rounded petal shape. A mulberry stripe runs down the centre vein of each petal so you get that dark-to-light graduation that makes real tulip petals look almost translucent. 7 colours total and theyre all referenced as Madeira Classic 40 in the worksheet so matching is straightforward.

The stem is a slim dark forest green with a warm sawdust tan edge highlight running alongside it, gives it a botanical-illustration roundness rather than a flat stick. Two leaves flank the stem, both in light emerald green with the same directional satin fill as the petals, long stitches following the leaf curve. The whole design is tall and narrow, so it works best for vertical garment placements rather than badge-style designs.

I spent alot of time on the petal colour order because previous attempts at this style always came out too flat. One customer who does market stalls emailed me last april saying the graduation in the petals made her display pieces look far more like real hand-embroidered work than digital files. Thats the bit Im most happy with. Best fabric is white or cream cotton, the petal graduation shows properly on pale grounds and on dark fabric the light pink just muddies.

Back a cutaway under your hoop before you run it. Density sits at 545 and the petal sections are the heaviest, the overlap zone near the base where 3 petal colours converge is where youll feel it. Run at about 80 percent speed through those sections. Dont use a topping on smooth cotton but if youre running on linen slip a thin water-soluble sheet on first to stop the blush fill dipping into the weave. Smaller sizes are great for placement testing before you commit the full 7-inch version to a finished piece.

Email me if the mulberry vein colour reads too dark on your machine and Ill suggest a softer thread substitute.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
