The face carries a really confident line. Sharp bob haircut, the fringe sits just above the brows and the hair builds up with tight directional stitching that goes from root to tip so it looks like actual hair texture. The features stay minimal on purpose. Thin almond eyes, a slim nose bridge in maybe 3 lines, and then those red lips which hit in satin fill and are kinda the whole point of the composition. Only 3 colours but they do a lot of work.

Around the face and spilling below the chin line theres a cluster of roses, leaf sprigs and butterflies. Two butterflies in black outline and one big red rose with tight satin petals, a few smaller blooms in outline only. Wilcom digitised the hair fill first then the face details, then the florals come in underneath and around, so the layering actually looks intentional rather than random. Five sizes from a compact 2.32-inch height up to 4.96 inches, and the linework on the face holds even at the smallest size which is not always a given with portrait designs.

Im gonna be honest this is a boutique and salon design first. I made it last spring after customising aprons for a lil hair salon whose owner wanted something fashion-forward rather than the usual scissors-and-comb type image. She put it on black cotton twill aprons and last I heard shes been selling em to her clients. But I also get messages from people using it on tote bags for handmade jewellery brands and independent clothing labels, which makes sense given the vibe.

Use a cutaway stabiliser on this one, specially on the dense hair fill which reaches 35k stitches at the 4.96-inch size. Stitch on black or charcoal fabric so the red lips read as the focal accent, or try cream linen if you want a softer contrast. Skip jersey for the bigger sizes, that dense hair section needs a stable woven ground. The butterflies at the base use open satin columns so those hoop sections need to be taut.

Pair the medium 3.64-inch on a tote bag with a text block below it. Works really well on a black canvas bag for a fashion boutique or a handmade cosmetics brand packaging situation.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Hair salon aprons and uniform piecesStitch the 3.64-inch on black cotton twill aprons for a hair salon and pair it with the salon name below in chain stitch.
  • Fashion boutique tote bagsEmbroider the 2.32-inch on a navy tote for a fashion boutique loyalty gift that actually looks editorial.
  • Beauty brand packaging pouchesUse the small size on a drawstring pouch to package handmade soap or cosmetics for a beauty brand gift set.
  • Womens denim jacket chest panelsPop the medium piece on a denim jacket left chest panel. The red lips against blue denim are gonna get noticed.
  • Handmade jewellery brand merchandiseStitch the 3.64-inch on a cotton bag for a handmade jewellery seller who needs branding that doesnt look generic.
  • Framed portrait hoop wall artHoop the 4.96-inch in an 8-inch frame for a salon wall, the bold contrast reads across the room without any fuss.
  • Cosmetics studio cushion coversEmbroider on a wheat linen cushion panel for a beauty studio waiting area with a minimal colour palette.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
