Elegant woman with hat, side profile looking left. Its the most graceful angle for a portrait like this and it works. The skin tones are built in four separate shades from a deep warm brown through to a lighter highlight, so there's real dimension in the face even though the style's mostly flat fills. The hat is cream and beige with a solid black band across it. Simple, and it works right.

Seven colours, six colour changes total. Pop a good medium-weight cutaway under your fabric before hooping, especially onto jersey or a knit. Skip tearaway on anything stretchy, it wont hold the fill layers flat once the design builds up. The stitch count goes up to 31,543 on the bigger sizes, mostly from those skin tone fill layers. Sizes run from 3.5 to 7.5 inches wide, 2.86 to 6.11 inches tall, landscape proportions so it sits nicely on bag fronts and tee placements. Dont rush the transitions between skin tone colours or you'll get colour bleeding at the boundaries.

She sent me a photo last autumn of this on a tan linen tote she'd made as a gift, and it looked genuinely brilliant. The cream hat blended slightly into the natural linen which gave it this really intentional, aged look she wasn't even expecting. Stitch yours up and see what it does on your fabric. Reach out if you have any issues with the download and I'll get it sorted for you.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Natural linen tote bags as a fashion giftThe neutral hat colour blends beautifully into natural linen for a tonal, sophisticated result.
  • Cream or ivory tee shirt front or chest panelChest placement on a cream or ivory tee in the 4 inch size looks very clean and editorial.
  • Throw pillow covers in neutral bedroom decorThe calm side-profile silhouette suits pillow covers in soft neutral interiors really well.
  • Framed hoop art with a linen or muslin baseStretched on a 7 inch hoop with a natural muslin base it reads as considered gallery-style art.
  • Cotton canvas clutch bags or makeup pouchesAt smaller sizes from 3.5 to 4 inches the design fits makeup pouches and clutch bags perfectly.
  • Denim jacket or shirt pocket detailA pocket placement on a denim shirt at 3.5 inches is subtle and really effective.
  • Hair salon or beauty business branded itemsHair and beauty businesses love this kind of design on branded aprons or tote bags.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
