The woman in this design is shown from the side, shoulders up, and theres alot more focus on the roses woven through her hair than on any facial detail. Its that classic Art Nouveau approach where the female figure and the botanical elements kind of merge together, the roses and leaf shapes growing in and out of her hair like they belong there naturally.

Three colours and a density of 835 at the largest size, which runs up to about 23,000 stitches at 7.5 inches wide. The hair and figure outline use directional stitching with a satin column on the outer edges, and the rose petals have their own satin fill sections that sit slightly raised off the hair texture. But what I think works best about this design is how the leaf stems wind through and connect everything, they stop it from looking like just a face with flowers stuck on top.

And I find this one goes into the shopping cart for all sorts of reasons, not just fashion projects. I sell alot to people doing botanical themed gift bags, art prints converted to embroidery, and salon decor. One customer last spring ordered three sizes to stitch as framed pieces for a hair salon wall.

Works on cotton canvas, heavy linen, denim, or medium fleece. Cutaway stabiliser throughout because the density is high enough that a tearaway wont hold firm on the larger sizes. Stitch on cream, white, natural linen or light grey for the best contrast between the dark silhouette and those warm flower tones. Skip anything with a busy print pattern behind it.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Fashion-themed tote bagsThe 7 inch version across a canvas tote panel makes a fashion-forward bag that works for everyday use and gifts.
  • Hair salon wall decorFramed in an embroidery hoop this design makes beautiful wall art for a hair salon or beauty studio.
  • Botanical gift wrap accentsA medium 5-inch placement on canvas gift bag takes it from plain brown to something that looks boutique.
  • Art-themed shirt or hoodieCentred on a plain white or black shirt this design reads as artistic and fashion-forward rather than just decorative.
  • Linen cushion cover centrepieceStitched on a cream linen pillow cover the dark silhouette and rose tones make a striking centrepiece for a bedroom.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
