The wings are honestly the main event on this fairy gnome design. Two large butterfly wings spread out wide on both sides, they're packed with swirling scrollwork patterns, little eyelet circles, teardrop fills, the whole decorative treatment. Deep rose pink and hot pink shading across the wing panels with black outlining all the fine detail. Very dense satin work at density 1375, thats what makes those wing sections look so rich and layered.

Tucked right underneath the wings is the gnome himself. Just the tall pale pink pointed hat with a lil bow on it, the round peach nose poking out, and then a full long curly beard in lavender grey tumbling down. His face is mostly hidden which is very on-brand for gnomes honestly. The composition is wider than its tall because the wings stretch so far out, so plan your hoop orientation accordingly. Last christmas I got a bunch of orders for this on tote bags and it stitched up really clean on canvas.

5 sizes running from 4.15 x 5.01 inches up to 7.47 x 9.01 inches, stitch counts go from 47,304 all the way to 92,561 at the largest. Thats a serious build. 8 colour changes total. Wilcom EmbroideryStudio digitised this so the satin columns in the wing scrollwork have proper underlay and pull compensation baked in. Use a cutaway stabiliser on knit or stretch fabric, or a medium tearaway on woven cotton and linen. The wing detail sections wont hold on a flimsy tearaway if theres any give in the fabric.

Hoop tight and keep your bobbin tension consistent because the density in those wings is high. Pop it centred on lighter fabrics so the pink reads well, the design gets a bit lost on dark backgrounds. Skip busy printed fabric too, its got enough going on already. Text me if the file dosent open or you want a colour swap and Ill rework it in the afternoon.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Fantasy-themed tote bags and shopping bagsStitch on a cream or white canvas tote for a fairy market bag, the pink wings really pop on pale ground.
  • Girls bedroom throw pillows and cushion coversUse the 5-inch motif on velvet or cotton cushion cover for a magical girls bedroom accent.
  • Jean jackets and denim vest back panelsCentre on the denim quilted-jacket back with cutaway stabiliser, the satin wing detail wears really well on denim.
  • Fairy party favour bags and gift pouchesRun the small 4-inch size on organza or cotton favour bags for a fairy or fantasy-themed party.
  • Children's room wall art hoop framesFrame the largest 7.47-inch version in a deep wooden hoop and hang it as nursery or bedroom wall art.
  • Baby girl bibs and burp clothsUse the smallest size on a white bib for a baby girl gift set, soft and sweet theme.
  • Sweatshirts and hoodies with a whimsical vibeStitch centred chest-front on a light grey sweatshirt, the rose pink reads well against grey fleece.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
