Made this one for the kids range back in january. Really really a classic fairy tale figure, the kind of design that works on everything from party dresses to bedroom pillows. Nine colours, five sizes from 3.5 inches wide up to 7.5 inches. Stitch count goes from 10449 at the smallest to 23583 at the largest, which is kinda just right for a detailed character without being heavy on the fabric. The digitising was done in a way that keeps the wing detail crisp even at 3.5 inches, because at that size a lotta wing designs lose the vein lines, and I didnt want that to happen here.

Tearaway stabiliser is fine for most woven fabrics since the density is 575, not too aggressive. On stretch fabric like jersey for kids clothing, go for a cutaway and reduce the speed a lil. Add a water-soluble topping on any napped fabric so the satin wand detail doesnt sink. Stitch the smallest 3.5 inch size on a onesie chest, its the perfect scale for baby clothing and the density wont pucker cotton jersey if youre hooped well.

One customer ordered this for a whole set of personalised birthday party bags last summer and said the colour changes were easy to customise with their thread stash. The satin on the wand star tip has underlay stitching so it stays raised and doesnt flatten out after washing. Pair with a plain linen fabric for a hooped wall piece, or use on felt for a soft toy applique. Reach out if you need a colour change guide for the nine threads and Ill put one together for you.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Girls birthday party dress hemUse the 3.5 inch hoop for a dress hem, tearaway stabiliser works fine on woven cotton.
  • Kids bedroom pillow centrepieceThe 7.5 inch piece on a pillow cover makes a gorgeous kids bedroom piece on linen.
  • Personalised party bag panelStitch the 5-in size for a canvas party bag front, topping helps on any woven texture.
  • Baby onesie chest detailthe small 3.5 fits a standard onesie chest hoop, cutaway stabiliser essential on jersey.
  • Nursery wall art hoopHooped on natural cotton muslin at 6 inches and framed in a 7 inch wooden hoop for wall art.
  • Girls school bag flapThe 4.5 inch version sits neatly on a school bag flap with cutaway backing.
  • Fairy costume skirt accentAppliqued onto a tulle skirt layer for a fairy costume, use light tearaway on the tulle.
  • Soft toy applique panelFused to a felt panel and trimmed for a soft toy chest detail, no stabiliser needed on thick felt.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
