Dont go smaller than 3.15 inches, youll lose legibility on the script curves. I get messages about using this on fleece and its fine, just dont skip the cutaway or the script columns wont sit straight.

Use a light topping on any textured knit so the flag stripe edges stay crisp. Run the colour order as the file specifies, blue first lays the canton base cleanly before the stripes come in over it. Stitch the script last, it sits on top of everything and thats where the density of the black satin pops against the flag fill. Add a stable underlay pass under the heart outline stitches if your fabric is even slightly stretchy. Done.
