Side view of a vintage pickup with those soft rounded proportions you associate with older american trucks, the silhouette is clean rather than detailed so it reads as a shape as much as an object. The truck bed carries a stack of 3 or 4 pumpkins in different sizes, the front-most one fully round, the ones behind it slightly cropped by overlap. A few autumn leaves drift to the side of the cab and around the wheel well in ochre and sage, scattered enough to suggest motion.
Five threads: rust red filling the truck cab and body, vivid pumpkin orange for the pumpkin load, sage green for the leaf accents and pumpkin stems, warm charcoal on the truck outline and wheel arches, and ochre for the larger leaf shapes. density lands near 560 per square inch, comfortable on most fabrics without any stiffening. The pumpkin fills are the densest section, the cab outline areas are much lighter.
Theres a gap in the market between halloween-specific designs and generic fall leaf stuff, and this one sits right in it. Its autumn without being October-only, you could wear this from september through november without it feeling out of season. A customer bought it specifically because she needed a fall design that wasnt about halloween, she was making autumn tees for her whole family and wanted something that worked for the 3-year-old aswell as the adults. She went with the 4-inch size on kids tees and the 4.86-inch on the adult versions.
The rust red truck body sings most on natural linen or cream cotton, though it works on any coloured fabric. Use medium tearaway on woven fabrics and cutaway on knit or fleece. Hoop snug. Check the tension on a scrap piece before committing to the final fabric. Trim your thread tails cleanly between the stacked pumpkin colour changes because theyll come close together and tails catching under the presser foot show on the fill surface.
