I actually drew this dragon up last february after getting a bunch of messages from customers asking for something fantasy-themed that wasnt dark or spooky. The result is this chunky kawaii dragon -- 10 colours, nine sizes from 2.63 to 5.64 inches wide, and stitch counts that run from 20,062 up to 49,232 at the largest. Thats alot of thread but Wilcom EmbroideryStudio digitised every layer properly so the density stays consistent at around 1,162 stitches per square inch across the whole design.
The body is stitched in satin columns that follow the scale rows, so you get that nice directional texture rather than a flat green blob. Belly area uses a lighter fill with underlay underneath to keep it from sinking into the fabric. The wing membranes are the densest part of the whole thing, so use a cutaway stabiliser when you hoop it -- tearaway just wont hold up under that much stitching in a small area. I tested it on cotton twill first and the colours came out really clean.
Best results on light-coloured fabric. White, cream or pale grey jersey all work well. Skip anything patterned or dark because the pale belly tones will just disappear against a busy background. Pop it on kids t-shirts, hoodies, or nursery items and it reads perfectly from a few feet away. The 2.63 inch size fits a left chest nicely without overwhelming the shirt.
And honestly the kawaii face is what people keep commenting on -- those big circular eyes just work. One customer ordered three shirts for her kids back in march and sent me a photo, all three chose different colours of shirt but the dragon looked great on all of em. Hit me up if the file gives you trouble and I'll get you sorted.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
