Single-colour but thats not a weakness here, its the whole look. The chicken stands upright, head lifted, with that rounded farmhouse-bird silhouette people recognise from country market stalls. Across the body and wing the stitching isnt just a flat fill, theres feather texture built into the directional satin sections so the plumage reads as individual overlapping layers when light catches it. Built in Wilcom, density runs at 595 which means the coverage is solid even with one thread colour and the underlay keeps everything anchored before the satin goes down.

9 sizes, starting at 3.5 inches wide and going reaching 7.5 inches. Stitch counts open at 11,758 on the small end and hit 28,898 at the largest, so budget a proper session for the big sizes on heavy canvas or denim. A customer who stitches for a rural gift shop told me last autumn she puts the 5-inch run on linen aprons and cant keep them in stock, which I thought was impressive for a single-colour design honestly. Theres something about the farmhouse country look right now.

Press a thick cutaway backer under canvas or heavy linen before you hoop it and the density wont cause any fabric drag. Use tearaway under tighter-weave cotton aprons and the backing edges pull clean without disturbing the seam. Skip silk or charmeuse, the density at 595 is too heavy for delicate weaves. Pair with a simple block-font name below the bird on a kitchen apron if your customer wants it personalised. Drop me a message if you run into any file issues and Ill sort it out.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Kitchen aprons and linen bib aprons for country kitchensThe 5-inch version centred on an apron bib gives that classic farmhouse kitchen look without dominating the whole piece.
  • Canvas tote bags for farmers market shoppersRun the 6-inch size on a canvas shopper for a bold country market bag.
  • Tea towels with a rustic farmhouse aestheticStitch the 4-in detail on a tea towel corner for a quiet farm accent alongside a matching border.
  • Throw pillow covers for a rural or cottage interiorA 7.5-inch run on a pillow cover front panel makes a strong rural statement for a cottage bedroom.
  • Denim shirts and chambray blouses for a countryside lookthe 4-inch chest on a chambray shirt chest pocket is an understated country detail that doesnt overplay.
  • Country wedding favour bags and small gift packagingMultiple 3.5-inch pieces on small muslin bags work well for barn wedding favour sets.
  • Baby nursery blankets and bibs on a farm animal themeThe 3.5-inch sits neatly on a baby onesie as part of a coordinated farm nursery set.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
