Highland cows have had their moment and honestly theyre still having it, and this one has christmas written all over it. The curly forehead fur is built from dense scribbly linework that reads as actual texture, the horns curve out wide and slightly back, and the whole animal stands full-body on a little grass tuft. Santa hat, poinsettia to the side, red bow at the chest. Two colors only, red and black, and yet theres a lot happening in the fine line detail. A customer who runs a country Christmas craft fair ordered this on 30 natural linen shirts last november and said it was her top seller of the season.

Four sizes run from 3.45 x 4.51 inches up to 5.74 x 7.51. Stitches start at 28,867 and climb to 47,159 at the large end. Thats a high count for just 2 color changes, which reflects how much fine linework density fills the animal body. Wilcom EmbroideryStudio digitisation, Tajima format. Hoop no-show mesh cutaway beneath medium linen or twill to keep the linework flat. Use a 75/11 embroidery needle on lighter fabrics and step up to an 80/12 for denim.

Stitch on natural linen or chambray for the best visual result on the black linework. Skip light pastel backgrounds since the black detail wont read clearly without enough contrast. Country-themed christmas shirts, farm gift sets, barn decor panels. The two-color thread plan makes batch runs fast to set up. Dm me through the contact page if youre doing a large run and want advice on needle size for heavy denim.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Country and farm-themed Christmas shirtsStitch on a natural linen or chambray shirt front for a farm-aesthetic holiday look that works on adults and kids equally.
  • Rural holiday gift items for ranchers and farmersThis is the kind of design that rancher wives and farmers gift each other. Tote, tea towel, apron, all work well.
  • Barn and farmhouse seasonal decor piecesHoop polymesh underneath medium linen to keep the fine linework from sinking into the weave on larger pieces.
  • Christmas stockings with a country twistAt 5.74 x 7.51 the design fills a full stocking front panel cleanly without needing a background fill.
  • Holiday tote bags for animal lover marketsThe two-color thread plan means fast setup for a batch run at a country craft fair or farmer's market stall.
  • Kids' country Christmas pajama setsThe 3.45 x 4.51 size fits neatly on a standard child's shirt pocket or bib front without overcrowding.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
