A tall red festive candle with swirling filigree on the body, sitting in a wide spread of holly leaves and branches. The satin fill on the body has curling vine-like patterns inside it which catch light differently to the flat sections around them. At the base, the holly leaves extend wide in both directions in long flowing satin strokes with deliberate gaps between them giving an open, almost lace-like texture. Red berry clusters dot the branches and a small gold flame with radiating lines sits at the top. Dont underestimate how good it photographs on natural fabrics.
Four colours: red for the body and berries, green for all the holly, gold for the flame and scatter details, and a warm off-white for the filigree accents. Stitch count runs 9,675 at the smallest 3.34 x 3.5 inch up to 19,658 at 7.15 x 7.5. Tape a poly cutaway stabiliser for the holly sections, the open satin work needs firm backing or those long directional stitches pull. The filigree detail is the trickiest area, so dont rush the bobbin tension check before you start.
I get lots of customer orders for this one in the weeks leading up to christmas and also just before the winter season begins, which tells me its not only christmas buyers picking it up. The motif works well for winter home decor year round. Hoop it, stitch it onto linen and hang it, put it on a table runner, or use the medium size on a tea towel thats actually going to be used and appreciated as a gift.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Christmas table runners and centrepiecesRepeat at even spacing along a table runner using the 5-inch size for a coordinated christmas table look
- Linen tea towels and kitchen clothsCentre it on a plain linen tea towel, the four-colour palette suits natural fabric backgrounds nicely
- Holiday tote bags and fabric gift wrapUse the largest 7-inch size on a canvas tote for a winter gift bag thats more personal than a paper bag
- Decorative wall hoops and framed embroideryHoop in a display hoop and frame it as wall decor, the filigree candle body looks detailed up close
- Festive cushion covers and throw pillow panelsA cushion cover at the 5-inch size gives the design enough breathing room against the fabric edges
- Advent calendar pockets and small fabric bagsSmall fabric pouches or advent pockets at the small 3.5, stitch on felt for a clean edge

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
